At the EUROSTUDENT Talks on February 19th, we welcomed Jan Kercher, Senior Researcher at the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), to present new findings from the 2023/24 BintHo survey on student mobility and international experience. While universities in Germany strongly promote study abroad and cross-border academic exchange, only around one fifth of students spend time abroad during their studies. For this reason, the DAAD’s 2023/24 BintHo survey asked students at 132 German universities to rate virtual or hybrid study abroad experiences as an alternative to a physical stay abroad, to report their own virtual experiences abroad and to evaluate arguments for and against it.
